Good lord he's proud of them thangs... check out (all the way at the bottom) the price for ONE bee... $150??!!!! yikes! (I sure do hope I read that wrong somehow!!)
Lot's of insects for $150.Didn't see one minnow imitation. What do big fish usually eat? smaller fish.... Fantastic ties for sure, very, very realistic.
AW I'm sure you read that correctly and no doubt that the skilled artist is not overpaid. Some of those folks spend days on each one .
You want to see stupid expensive items look at some tennis shoes. lol
Graham's flies are outstanding!!!!!!!!!!! He ties and posts over at Fly Tying.
There is another guy over in England and several years ago was heading through Customs on his way to a big show in New Jersey and the Customs people confiscated his flies!!! The Customs people said they were real flies and he had just stuck them on fly tying hooks. According to the Fly Tyer magazine he hadn't got them back yet.

Some of the guys that tie Realistic flies spend a lot of hours tying them. It is normal for it to take weeks and maybe 50-100 hours tying one so it's pretty easy to see why they would be $150. So say you spend even 25 hours tying one; would you sell them for less than $5 per hour of your time? I think not!
Most of these are not meant to be used fishing and some one said fish eat minnows is right about crappie and bass, but when talking about lots of other fish that people fly fish for eat bugs a lot. That is why many patterns are meant to be to imitate bugs as well as some minnows too. All trout fishermen use bug flies to catch them.
Even some jigs are meant to pose as bugs especially jigs for bream as well as any other fish that eats bugs and lots do.

Oh and check out these crabs. I have posted these before, but am sure lots of new guys here have not seen them and I didn't tie them, LOL!

Those really big browns are very often caught on some sort of streamer fly. Then you turn around and catch one on a #26 midge imitation

One of the members here ties the super realistic flies. This thread is an example of his work:
