I took my swap jig prototypes on a trout and bass fishing trip the last few days.Tied just one of each, big mistake as I usually tie at least three but tying time was limited. One bait they jumped all over it. I caught a 16 inch brown, one largemouth, two smallies, two huge goggle eye and a black crappie before a nice smallie snatched it about 6 feet from the tip and I broke the line on the hook set,Guess I got too excited and set the hook to hard with light line. When I got home after unpacking I tied up 30 of these baits,27 for the swap and 3 for me. I would have tied more but that's all the jigs in this color that I had painted. Water was stained and high from recent heavy rains and the fish were hungry, sure liked this bait and I hope everyone else does too.

I was using a 1/12 Phatboy jig that I poured on a #4 red sickle, three colors of powder paint, two color eyes, new color chenille and some kind of hair that was custom dyed. I just received another custom mold earlier this week and poured several hundred heads this morning.I'll paint some today and bring them out for the next swap. I figure I'll have a month or so to try them out before the next one. These heads are cooool.

For Criminy sakes, I haven't even finished my design yet and you already have a couple that are gonna be done. I work to darn hard on doing these things just so they can be destroyed by a few dozen slabs that would be oh so tasty on the grill with some lemon and butter and some tater wedges and crawdad salad and, and, and........................

I guess it is worth it after all since I am drooling. :D:D:D
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
