List is coming along well with most of the known tiers in here but we are still lacking a good number of them.

I think what we have here is Failure To Participate, now that could mean a few things.

    1. Being your tired and need to rest those weary tying fingers a bit.

    2. You haven't read the Thread as of yet.

    3. Your tossing around a few ideas in your head on what to tie before you sign up.

    4. Your wondering where you can get the required material before you sign up, if that is the case you can ask the Crazy Angler himself (flatfish46) or you can ask Skip ( for I think he has feathers by the bucket fulls, or I read a post similar to that on here). Those are a couple places you can check for duck feathers.

    5. Your questioning yourself if you have what it takes to participate in this one or not. Now that is an easy answer if you have taken part in other swaps on here than you are more than qualified to be in this one as well. So I think I just eliminated #5 out of the possibilities.

    6. If you are reading these you are curious enough to see the requirements for Swap 15 so go ahead and sign up it is going to be a good-one at that.

Now those are just a few possibilities I know there are probably many more reasons why you haven't signed up yet, but I will leave it at the Top 6 for the current time.

    New Requirement For Swap #15

I would like to make a change to the current requirement of not only having to use DUCK FEATHERS on your finished master piece.

I would also like each tier to make an additional 2 lures they are making in the swap to send in with your finished jigs. The reasoning behind the 2 additional Jigs is that I would like to send the additional Jigs to SLAB for him to use as prizes for CDC. How he determines to give them out as prizes would totally be slabs call, I would have no input on that. I feel that would bring a little togetherness here on CDC knowing that you just won a prize that was made by a fellow member.

    SPECIAL REQUEST

I see that we have a good number of SPONSORS here on CDC that all do a good amount of Chenille Wrapping and Hacking Point type of tying as I call it, the EASY stuff.

I would like to see all of the Jig Tying Sponsors participate in this one as well for I would see that as giving a little something special back to the CDC community. I think that would mean allot to all of us here at CDC, showing that you are willing to participate in some of the community fun that is taking place here. You know what I mean get out of that ALL BUSINESS mode for a few minutes and get in on the fun.

Besides who better to learn from than Professional Jig/Fly Tiers here on CDC, believe me you have allot of knowledge that we could all learn from if you are just willing to share some of the trade secretes.

But if you are backlogged with orders and cannot get in on this one I think we can all understand that, but I think you could find time to tie 2 Duck Feather Jigs that I could add to the package that will be shipped to SLAB to use as prizes here on CDC.

Just my 2 cents, so i am looking for some participation from all you Sponsors here on Swap #15 you all know who you are, so lets make this happen become a bigger part of CDC community today get involved, give a little something special back to the community here at CRAPPIE.COM.

The above is a good post Doc. I think it needed to be said.
I think we tend to get in our little niches and stay there.
After all if we stopped learning after grade school, we sure be a bunch
of dummies. I've never tied duck feathers in my life, but feel if I'm
gonna call myself a jig tier I should at least be up to the challenge of trying.
They may turn out horrible, but at least I gave it my best shot and that's all
that can be asked of anyone. I thought the same thing about tying a 1/100
oz jig until I saw some of BrimReaper's and yours Doc and thought hey maybe I can do that with these big paws! Now I do them and kinda like them.
So, come on guys and girls, stand up to the plate and take a swing, ya might find out ya kinda like what you're doing. I think CrazyAngler is one of the most innovative people I've ever dealt with! We need people like him to
"think outside the box" and he sure does that. However those people need to
teach the rest of us folks that have the desire but don't know how to go about it. Sorry for the long rant, but felt I must say it.

That better yet I like the fact that is a smaller hook than I guessed and I can see why the Gills would love them
