My cast net is on the porch waiting for some shad to swim by today, hopefully.I was out today and thought I saw some open water at the north end of a little lake by the house. If the weather holds I'm getting out and doing some field testing.

Were you sleeping when you tied and shipped them and not see them? Your jigs were spot on - excellent ties!!! Still scratching my head on the body material....

I believe that did make a difference. I can't take all the credit though, Ledhed got the idea started in my brain - think he did so I would stop yap yapping about shad jigs and make some. :D j/k Maybe a "rosey red" swap would be a good idea for a future swap, I don't have a clue what one is, but hear about them on the main board all the time. If someone ever does a craw swap..... I will be in that one FOR SURE!!!! Take care all!

A " rosey red " around here is a color phase of a fathead minnow. Not really red though more like a pale brilliant orange. They are extremely popular with the trout fishermen early in the season.

Don't know if that was the info you was worrying on or no. Talked to a minnow wholesaler out of Arkansas and he claimed it was almost like an albino. They do occur naturally in the wild. But the wholesalers keep sorting them from the natural color fatheads. If two rosey reds spawn together then they mostly if not all become rosies.

Some petshops sell them as feeder fish.

Received a whole package of shad in the mail on Wednesday. You guys tied some really nice looking jigs - thank you for sharing your talents. Thank You also to AtticaFish for running a very good swap.
