Thread: SW IOWA FARM POND

I was able to get out last night in front of the storms and catch about a dozen nice crappie. they were in 10 to 15 foot of water and I was catching them deep. they loved my hand tied marabou Road Runners. largest one went about 13.5 inches. the females eggs are swollen and the spawn is not too far away obviously

Last 3 days I have been hitting a farm pond and as far as I can tell they are in full spawn. Only problem is they are all 8in long. It will be a year or 2 before I think they will be of decent sze but after the spawn may take a dinner or 2 just so they do not over populate.
