Red rock has been really fantastic since mid September. I was catching them in 5 foot or less and every week since then they're a little deeper.I didn't go last weekend, but I'm sure they are still biting. Good luck next time you go out.
Fished Saylorville and Red Rock over the last 2 weeks and I can say confidently:
1. The walleye, all of the 9 that are in Red Rock and Saylorville combined, did not take my bait once. I trolled raps/salmo's/reef runners/flicker shads boards and no boards, spinners with worms and leeches. Jigged and dragged plastics and finally gave up.
2. The crappie have the feedbag on
3. Lake Pepin/Pool 4 is the only spot I'm going for a quick walleye trip from now on.
Big crappie were deep but catching 10" wasn't a problem and taste the same.
