Only made it over once so far. Caught a couple nice crappies and that was it. We were using minnows and a plain hook and slip bobbers. I heard they were catching bluegills today.

We had great luck on MORSE LAKE today!!! Some very nice perch were hitting off minnows!!

Well we're leaving for Brushy at 6 so hopefully we'll get into something! If it's crappy maybe we'll pull anchor and head up to morse. I'd be up for some big perch! :D

Not very good. The cold front that came in didn't help at all and neither did the wind. We went down on Sunday.

Ended up with 3 crappies, 1 decent 10" one and the other 2 were only about 6". Then I got 2 walleyes about 13" long. Then we also ended up with 2 doz. bluegills.

The crappies I caught all on 1/16th leadheads with twister tail same with the walleyes.

I caught one walleye and all 3 crappies in the same spot on the west side of the lake. We would have stayed there but the wind was beating us to death and we couldn't stay on where they were at. Pretty hard to anchor in 35' of water. We ended up tying the bow to a tree but we were to far away to cast where they were at.

Most of the bluegills we got were VERY nice! BIG AND FAT! I swear one of them had to be a pound and a half! I'll post some pics when I get them from my father in law. I coudn't find my camera.

I did throw one smaller crappie back that was obviously still carrying eggs and when i cleaned the others one of them still had eggs as well. The bluegills still had eggs in them as well. So they obviously haven't spawned yet. But they are starting to move into the brush in the shallows.

Bluegills we caught on the east side of the lake where it was only about 5-10 ft. deep but they were right on the shoreline. Caught them on wax worms and pieces of nightcrawler. I caught mine on small tear drop jigs and my brother in law caught his just on a plain hook and piece of worm. They weren't picky at all and they were hitting them HARD! Pretty fun on the ultralight!

I did have one pretty fun event. While we were pulling out the gills I was realiing in because I thought they had picked my bait off and a big ol' musky hit my line and took it for a ride. It was pretty cool to watch. I seen it swimming after the teardrop jig and it just took off with it, when it hit the end of the line it went flying in the air and "SNAP" That little 4lb test never stood a chance. It was about 30" long from what I could tell and really fat. I wish I would have had my other pole in with the fireline on it. I'm just glad I had witnesses.

Overall it was alright I guess, I think it would have been really good if the weather wouldn't have changed and the wind wouldn't have been blowing so dang hard.

I'll post some pics of the fish when I get them.

I just about caught a muskie when I was last down there 2 years ago and they've probably doubled in size since then. It was only probably 30" long but it was really FAT! Of course I hooked it right where we were catching those big bluegills so I'm sure I know what he was doing in there! :D

If you want more specifics on where we were catching the stuff let me know and I'll try to describe it better.

I think it was by a tree somewhere! :D
