    Default fishing time?

Anyone been out on Big Creek yet? I need to drive over there to see if the ice is all out. If so, I'm going to fire up the Merc for the first time this coming week.

Gunner, I've been told the ice is all gone on Big Creek and on Roberts Creek and I have new toys to get out and play with too, so I can hardly stand the wait!! I was mounting a new Minn Kota Edge trolling motor and a Humminbird 570 on my boat on Thursday, but just couldn't work fast enough to get the job done on time to get out that day.
A friend went fishing below Red Rock Dam yesterday and drove by Roberts on the way, so he called to tell me that there was no ice in sight on Roberts Creek. I read on some other forum that the ice was gone from Big Creek, but I'd really like to hear it from a more reliable source, so I'm anxious to hear what you find when you drive over!

Yea, no signs of ice on Big Creek. And it looks like at least one boater and one kayaker has beat me to the water. Of course none of the docks are in the water, so will have to beach the boat on the rocky shore while parking the truck, but may have to give it a go anyway this week. Really wanting to try out the new electronics.

fished from boat yesterday. Not a bite for bass or walleye. Marked very few fish in the usual spots. Water was really dirty though. Still great to be out.

I couldn't take it any more. Got home from work, hooked up to the triton and pulled her out to Big Creek this afternoon. Backed it in the water, pumped the fuel bulb, hit the primer, turned the key and the Merc roared to life. Couldn't believe it started that quick the first time. Was out on the water for a couple hours, and never got a line wet. just cruised around playing with the new electronics. That side and down imaging is really cool.

I've always had classic cars that I'ves stored over winter, and never used stabil, though I do start them during warm spells, usually once a month, so I've never seen the need for stabil. Gas doesn't go bad that fast. Though, saying that, I did drain the carbs on the merc, fogged the heck out of it. pulled the plugs, cleaned them, sprayed a little fogging oil in the cylinders, and put the plugs back in. I did, by the way, use stabil on it (even after I said what I did above). Figured as expensive as these motor are, a few bucks is cheap.
