    Default Ice out!

It's coming fast guys, everyone got their boats ready for a little early spring crappie fishing? Heck, the amount of open water down at Badger Creek is pretty vast, shores are wide open for many, many yards. I might head down next week on one of the warmer days just to throw a jig!

    Good luck!

Boy, am I ready! My boat is ready, new fish-finders on it. I may have to cruise by Big Creek tomorrow to see what the ice looks like. I drove over the bridge at the upper end of Saylorville yesterday. Looked like there was a passage to drive a boat where the current was, so I'm guessing the still water may still be iced up. i may have to go out the next warm day and put the muffs on the merc, and fire it up so it's ready the first chance I get.

Hey guys, I'm stuck over here on the east coast of Iowa, 30 degrees, a little snow and very little open water. The river is open but flowing at over 100,000 cfm and makes it hard to get jigs down to walleyes. Looking forward to some crappie at Geode, McBride and Belvadeer.
