You should fish the river channel edge. When you are on the ice, look right and you should see the pillar on the bridge. I fish between 10-15' right there on the channel edge.

That's a very dangerous spot to fish though. I was fishing the 105 bridge once and almost lost my auger when I drilled a hole. The water level was 3-5 under the ice level. Just make sure you see others out there before you fish this spot
Caught so many fish today my thumb is sore from clicking the counter.

    Default 105 bridge

105 bridge crosses Salamonie reservoir in Huntington county. Would be 3+ hours from Cincy. Northwest of Fort Wayne by 30 miles or so. Ice fishing has been slow the last 2 weeks or so around there. Summit Lake by New Castle In. has been good for crappie and gills . Closer for you too. Good Luck.

hey papermouth thanks for the advice on where to fish. i went there this past weekend and caught a few but nothing to brag about. it seemes like they are much smaller this winter than they were during the summer, there were some big papermouths caught in the spring and summer i hope they rebound before the ice is gone aint nothin like pulling a big one out of the ice.

    Cool crappie fishing at 105

went out this past weekend 1/31/09 2/1/09 and got a bunch of very small crappies but any day i catch is a good day for me i'm hoping that the big ones will move in before the ice melts we are looking at 45 degree weather this weekend.

2yrsnluninit, once spring gets here go to Mississinewa instead. I have always had better luck on Miss. than Salamonie. The fish are a little tougher to find, but seem to be bigger to me. I caught multiple 1.5-2 lb in there last year spider rigging. Too bad I couldn't find them during the Crappie USA tournament. I did find the big fish of the tournament though (yes I'm bragging...lol)

Yates, it's good to hear from you again. It's been a long winter for me. Wife and I had our 2nd child and I didn't ice fish once this year! Unless you count kicking a hole in the ice around the docks ice fishing. I hated to see no CUSA trail in Indiana this year. Dad and I will try to make at least one. Probably Ohio. Good luck to you this year!

To answer your 105 question. It's on Salamonie. Probably a good haul from Cincy. I have had some super days at the 105 bridge and some bad ones. If you remember where Mt Etna ramp is..... go about 1-2 miles west and you will come to 4-way stop (highway 105). Turn right on 105. As soon as you come to the reservoir, that's 105 bridge and the area I am talking about.
