    Question Dogwood

I had an hour to kill after I dropped the Grandaughters at ball practice yesterday so I went to check out the lake. Talked to two different boaters who reported the crappie bite is still hard to find. One gave up on crappie and boated several bass coming from 4 ft of water on cranks and spinners.
Water is still high and muddy to stained. I stopped by one of the ponds since I had 20 minutes to spare and caught 4 crappie (eaters) and 1 bass on a black/chat tube in 3 feet of water. I let the wind/ waves dance it toward the shore with a slight yo yo at times.
I was on West Boggs Wednesday mostly looking for bass but did look for some crappie. I couldn't get anything going. Talked to another boater that said they had 15 really small ones on beemoths and small jigs. Water is still high and muddy, mid 40's (was) and more rain on the way. Last year at this time we had some hot days and farmers were hard at it in the fields.
    GOTTA GET BETTER SOON,, RIGHT??

Dogwood is great for panfish. It has some awsome redear fishing. The bass fishing seems to be really good now too. I normally target panfish when I go but I think I will start more bassin there too. The entry fee for Boggs is getting out of my price range anymore. I patronize the bait shop at Glendale, nice folks. My son-in -law and his sister now run the Dogwood Lodge B-B-Q just down the road.
Glendale is a great area to "outdoors" in. The people who work there strive hard to make it nice even tho they have a very limited budget.
I would like to get back to the lake (or ponds)today but the storms have put a damper on that for now.

I was on Dogwood the first day it opened. Back then, it was all standing timber, with boat lanes thru them. I just wish it was closer to Laf.
