Well looks like they are down to summer pool level (and holding) and slowed/shut down the spillway. Lake side is still muddy and up river is even worse. Stopped by spillway Thursday afternoon with grandson, the cove was pack with people and parking lot was full. We did not stay. Plan to get the jon boat out next week and try to find some schools up river. Hope everyone is have a good year on the water.

You said the spillway was packed with people on Thursday. Was this in the afternoon after work or earlier in the day? It seems more and more people are either not working on playing hooky. I met my brother at Morse Res on Wednesday and there were only 3 or 4 other fishing boats on the water along with that many fishing from the bank. I am retired now and love being able to get out during the week to avoid the crowds. I still go some on the weekends if that is when the weather is warmer, less windy or not raining. BTW, we did catch quite a few fish pulling jigs, but most were smaller. Kept 9 to make some tacos for dinner. Will probably start fishing Mississinewa once the water clears up some.
Doug - got hooked on LUND!

Unfortunately most of the people at the spillway are not your ordinary working american type. They are a foreign nationality and some may not even be legal. They practically live there. Bring there entire family. Ive found strollers sitting there, diapers in the woods, and seen them playing/bathing in the creek there. They also keep every 4 inch crappie they catch and most dont know what a limit even is. I cant wait for the lake to clear so i can fish there. Its not as bad on lake side in my experience.

It was around noon on Thursday, and colt1888 is spot on with his assessment, the spillway has been lost. I'll add they also use cast nets and will get ticketed on a monday and be back again the next day doing it again. I'll also be waiting for the lake to clear up, maybe up river but doubt at this point there will be much going on there.
