Hello,
Several times while fishing in the Dugger/Sullivan area I have ran into a few fellas that had monster crappies they caught out of Bass lake. I am thinking about heading down one Saturday in late February or early March( if there's no ice). Does anyone have any tips or information? Thanks.

It’s been several years, but I used to fish Bass quite a bit for the musky when I lived between Jasonville and Linton. It’s a cool pit. Lots of trees underwater and the DNR added some structures back in 2018 although I haven’t been able to find the coordinates. I do remember a news report that showed some being sunk in front of the handicap pier beside the main boat ramp on the SW end of the lake.
Here’s a DNR write up about the musky fishing there and it says “There is a low abundance of Crappies in Bass Lake, but the fish in the lake are typically larger than 12”. Lol

I’ve never fished it for crappie but I’ve seen pics of some slabs that come from there. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
