    Default PICO, Arkies, and Bandits.

Finally, got on the water today. And wind was alittle cold blowing across the 47-48 degree water. Water temp at 8:45 am started out 46.5. If I stayed out of the muddy water longlining crankbaits, I would find crappies, but they were scattered here and there. If I saw them in the Mega360 and caught one out of a small school, they wouldn’t be there in the turn around to go back over them. I did catch a double of 11” fish once. Big crappie was a female just over 14”. Caught around 40, kept 8 for a dinner tomorrow nite for the wife and I and released the rest. When I cleaned them, 4 were males, 4 biggies were females. Hot colors are in the pic. Simply Awesome PICO, PICO Fire Tiger , Arkie tiger striped, and Bandit salad bar ripped their lips. Speed 1.0 to no more than 1.4 at a depth of 8 to 10:ft in as deep as 12-16’ of water as I kept changing the depth and speed looking for a pattern. Scattered, they were and light hitting. I did loose 2 really nice ones at the boat. People bank fishing weren’t setting the world on fire either. Lake Lemon was the lake. You can catch crappie using crankbaits in cold water by slowing your speed down.
