It was 44 at Hardy Lake yesterday. Yellow bass were active in shallower water. The only crappie I could find were whites in 45 feet of water. I ended up going to Salem for my wife’s alumni basketball game and got to put in at John Hay for an hour afterwards. Stayed around the dock at John Hay where it was 45 degrees but I only caught a few largemouth.
Starke co IN 41 yesterday

Who ever decided to put yellow bass in indiana waters should be fired!!!!! These waters will never be same.
Yellow bass are same member of the family of white bass and striped bass. Eat them! And they have a life span of six years.

I guess I’m lucky I don’t remember what it used to be as I’ve only fished it about three years. I always catch a bunch of dinks with 6-10 mixed in that make the limit. Good thing about Hardy is that it’s easily accessible. Except now with the new East end bridge I can get to Taylorsville Lake driving an extra 20 minutes.
I don’t mind getting into a bunch of white bass and I wouldn’t mind getting into a bunch of yellows either. These fish no doubt compete with crappie so if I find myself in the middle of a white bass feeding frenzy I fill the freezer and I don’t feel bad about it.
