Bass tournaments have long been a real PITA for other fishermen not associated with them. Come down here to Kentucky lake and find out just how they operate...
Last two times I have tried to fish Lake Freeman from Dodge camp I have got there before sunrise and was unable to launch because a bass tournament had taken up all the spots. Didn't really want to fish there but didn't have much time this morning and it's the closet spot to my house in West Lafayette. Had to motor up the lake to another launch on the river and it took me 30 minutes with my little 9.9 motor to get to where I wanted to fish. Had to dodge the boat race coming at me when the tournament started. I searched online to try to find out if there were any tournaments but couldn't find anything.

This is a problem that exists in my neck of the woods as well...take up icefishing. You won't see those bass guys out there then.

I wonder sometimes if it really is a fishing tournament or a boat race. All they do is run from one end of the lake & back.

Doesn’t have everything, but this is the best online resource for scheduled tourneys on northern waters:

And when you are done fishing, if you get to the boat ramp while they are having a "weigh in", forget being able to use the ramps.
