Way to go man....we've been dealt a hand. Too hot for this fat boy after working in it all day. Time to drop the green lights for me.

Water temp at 7 am was 80.5 and clearing up to a blue green on Lemon. Decided to long line crankbaits and ended up catching about 50 till I quit at 10:30 am as jet skiers and pleasureboaters were finally coming out. Chrome baits were the hot bait in the PICO’s—mad clown and black backed. Before that, there were only maybe half dozen boats on entire lake. High pressure system, pure blue sky, no wind or ripple on water, pretty much had fish scattered and slow to hit as could only pick up one here, and one there. Kept 6 all 11 to 12 inches and released the rest and eating them for supper.
Went across causeway of Monroe Res. Have to say it looked awesome and only saw no more than 6 boats on entire lake. It’s up 14.7 above summer pool and they are only letting out about 250 cfs. Checked Cutright out and both ramps are closed due to high water. At the high water launch, you would have to back at least 60-70ft to launch and you would get wet. Have a good 4th.

I use the Bandits and Arkies also as they have some really great colors that the PICOs doesn’t have yet. But, the PICOs will run a foot or 1.5 ft deeper, have a loud BB in them, and I am sold on the golf ball dimpled body. I think the dimpled body gives off more sound waves as it moves in the water and it holds slab sauce that I coated them with sometimes. Now that PICO has the square bill version also, if you push with a weight above it, the square Bill gives you a better depth control also. Just my observations as I was previously using some square Bill crankbaits that I had found in some of my 20-30 yr old bass crankbait boxes. One thing about long lining jigs and crankbaits. It’s a great tool in finding crappie and if you are seeing them on your electronics, it’s possible to mark the spot with a waypoint, go back and jig fish them sometimes or just circle or figure 8 your boat back then rhem over and over hammering away.

not a bad catch rate. nice job.
I was going to have some people over for a fish fry but canceled it because of the heat. I didn't want the older ones to have to sit in that crap. shoot I didn't want to set in that crap. lol we stopped fishing at 11 am also.
Low 90’s next few days with heat index feeling over 100 and little to no wind. Time to dig the umbrella out. Pace yourselves. And stay hydrated.
