didn't get to fish the spawn or most of the spring last year due to work, now this year the weather just plain sucks, rain next 4 out of 5 days. Spent 3k getting pontoon ready to fish alot this spring and looks like its going to be parked most of it.. just looked at 14 day forecast and showing rain about every day or other day till middle of May.

Only couple places that are giving decent fish. They are starting to catch the big red ears and a gills at West Boggs. Just remember, it’s 600 acres and with a pontoon, you will only be able to fish about 500 of it and it is slammed with boats. 24-35 weekdays maybe, and twice that many on weekends and it’s a royal zoo. Lake Lemon is normal pool, 1700 acres and weekends is packed but weekdays is light. Good crappie, but pay attention to my previous fishing reports. Both lakes charge to launch. Monroe — 13.2 ft up, you can launch everywhere except Allen’s Creek and Pine Grove are flooded again. Just have to sort thru lots of small crappie and fish the brush. Mansfield is 6.3 above summer pool and couple friends are catching good crappie there. Cat is so high it will give ya nose bleed. Some places and lakes water is muddy in upper, Boggs is heavy stained, so is Lemon, Upper areas of Monroe is muddy, most of it is stained. Rain will effect water temp, as well as color, and we have a chance of rain damn near every day this week besides wind. Dang wind chill this morning at Bloomington was 31. 16 mph steady wind also. Sucks for sure!
Brookville— guys on BBC haven’t been setting the world on fire bass fishing and guys on Walleeye forum it’s still hit or miss by the day on catching walleye as lake is fubar’ed by rains. COE pulls 3000 cfs when it gets higher than winter pool and right now it’s about 10 above winter pool, 2 above epsummer and they are dropping it due to incoming rains. Muddy and lots of floating wood upper half, lower to dam is stained, and water temp goes up down like a yo yo with weather patterns. So fishing is the same as other big lakes, hit or miss. I don’t know anything above I 70 or farther south except reports on Patoka sucks also for bass or any other fish. Guys on BBC have nick named it the Dead Sea.

Cevans, thanks for the info. Sitting here debating, go or no go. Boggs is hammered. Counted 42 boats at 9:00 the other morning and the wind was bad. Kept some from my pond Friday, the eggs are no where near ready. Mother nature needs to help more.

Cevans, as you may recall I live at the dead sea. (Patoka) Do not know what it is going to take to bring it back to life but do know we are getting no respect from the COE. The last two years the lake has been well above summer pool during what is supposed to be winter pool and then when the spring rains come we stay at 12-14 feet high. There are no longer weed beds which used to be all the way around the lake!
If you look at the COE site you can see all but one of the Louisville controlled lakes in Ky are near summer pool as opposed to the Wabash drainage lakes that are and have been for most of the winter near flood stage.
Off my soap box.....
Yes. The weather can got a lot worse. Rain and snow don't stop me, but lightening does. Get that too on the water and enjoy yourself.

Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
raporter!!! It’s so good to hear from you. Is there any way to catch 9-10-11 inch crappie out of Patoka anymore? It totally upsets hell out of me to read the reports of all the millions of walleye fry they put in the lake the past few years, striped bass and a few other kinds, and every year, I hit my used to be most favorite lake and not catch crap except 3 to 5 lb drum every time I talk myself into fishing it when fishing for the walleye. I get some reports of eyes being caught in the summer right at dark, but luck for me and I used to snag a few crappie fishing 4-5 yrs ago. DNR really has me upset to see our second largest lake fubar’ed. Even the bass guys have about given up on it. Let us know how your doing!
