Default Geist Lake Collition is trying to restrict Fishing!

You guys that fish Giest Res in Indy need to read this. Costs to launch might go up to 500.00 per year plus higher than the 40 to launch. Can’t understand why our various clubs and fishing organizations aren’t fighting this as it can affect other lakes and our loss of waters to fish due to costs. The guys on BBC forum are totally concerned so read the entire threads.

I had been reading this. I haven't fished there since the '60's. Never really wanted to fish there. My chiropractor lives up there and asks why I don't come up there. It costs too much (for me) and it's going to be terrible if this passes. I'll take him to Cataract if he wants to fish. I've got a few ideas about this but I guess the easy one is they don't want a bunch of outsiders up there fishing and boating. There may be other ideas but I start with the simple ideas first. There's still Summit, Cataract, Monroe and others for me to explore. This doesn't affect me now but what happens if it happens at Eagle Creek, Morse or some of the other lakes around?

[250.00 annually, plus 40.00] Wow goes way beyond keeping the riff raff out, also I have seen a few species of birds out there now that don't belong in Indiana, swans, loons, ext. Who brought them in, and how much fish are the eating a day.

kinda doubt if the Loons will hurt the fish population.. its just a bunch of rich Doctors/Lawyers etc who want the lake to themselves and want to price the regular Joe out a fishing because they think they are their fish.
I live out in Parke county and we have Loons on out lakes out here theyve been showing up the last couple yrs.

I think most of the people living on the lake probably don't fish that much. I have friends that have a pontoon docked on the lake but don't live on the lake. They don't fish that much, mostly swim and party. Good ol' Cocktail Cove. I'm sure this will hit them in the pocketbook. I spliced a lot of telephone cables up around Geist thru the years. I could tell lots of stories about what some people wanted us to do, such as placing a telephone jack on tree so he could watch his house being built (pre-cellphone). But it was a good area to work compared to other places in Indy.
