you ever try any tiny traps? thats what i used to troll for them. i troll faster than most people tho, so they mite not work for you. roostertails and bettlespins were hot for me too. thats what i used when they wanted it slower.

Never tried the tiny traps but have a slew of beetle spins and rooster tails, one of my favorite rooster tails for bass was taking and tieing white hair off deer’s tail on, changing the treble hook on back for a larger hook and using on bass in strip pit fishing during ice out. Still have a bunch modified. I troll later in the summer faster speed ave 2.0 seems to catch larger fish. Slower before spawn anymore seems to catch larger for me. Depends on the overall situation.

interesting observations. i dont have a way to tell my speed. just put the trolling motor on 3 and a good bend in the rod. same way i do the trout accept shallower, without the wired on weights.
