    Default Bank Fishing Ideas

My wife and I are looking for any suggestions for bank fishing in the Columbus area, my knees are not great so long hikes would be difficult.
Our trips are day trips and we don't mind an hour or maybe 2 drive. We have been to many lakes in the area but decent bank spots seem hard to find.
We aren't picky about what we catch, would just like to catch a few.

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Alan

Atterbury has some descent walk in areas to fish. Stone Arch is right on the road, Teal Marsh has a short walk to the damn area. Both have good bluegill populations. Pisgah is not as easy to get around but the bluegill are more plentiful and larger. Fish east of the boat ramp. Plover Lake has a little bit of everything and is easy to get around on. Hope that helps, good luck.

    Alan,
We live in Columbus and have found a few decent places for bank fishing. In Mill Race Park, there are some boat docks in the pond on the other side of the covered bridge from the mill pond. We have caught bass and enough bluegill for supper off the docks. Driftwood fishing area in Edinburgh has some bank spots. A coworker likes to fish for catfish and bass in the lakes, and I have caught some nice bluegill there. There are at least two public-access ponds behind Walmart/Menards/Sam's Club on the west side. We've only fished there once, but the kids caught some little bass.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you want company sometime; we love to get out when we can. Just be warned - our 7 year old will outfish everyone!

I am not sure about that. I will try to drive around it next weekend. I drive by it just about every weekend.
