Default I need help big time!!!

So, I'm supposed to go to Lake Erie tomorrow but the winds are gonna be whippin' out of the NE everyday we're gonna be there. I'm flyin' by the seat of my pants trying to find a new fishing destination. I'm looking at coming down to Patoka, Monroe or Dogwood area for 3 days. Ive never been down there, but the weather and fishing reports look a lot better then northern Indiana. I'm looking for some guidance on where to go and stay on such short notice. Thanks, as always for your help.

You don't want Monroe 4 hours today all dinks. Water 64-66. Beat the bank, Buck brush, all the way out to creek channels, couldn't find slabs anywhere. Always before with water temp like that they were on bank or in buck brush or just out side of it. Pm me an I can tell ya where to go.

There's slabs in just about every body of water in indiana. Maybe some have more than others crappies are spawning I'm guessing statewide. You shouldn't have a problem cathing a mess of fish anywhere You go its just finding the big ones. Not familiar with any of those lakes so I'm not much help but I do know the weigh ins at patoka last weekend From slabmasters and they were impressive..big fish was 2.15 I believe and all 7 fished weighed from that group was a little over 11lbs. And let me tell you monroe has some pigs in it
Like I said its just finding them. That's what everyone wants to know lol

Army corps of Engineers has been pulling out of Monroe and cataract. They were pulling Patoka also but stopped a few days ago and will start back up some time. We just got 3/4 inches of rain, but they got more at Monroe and Patoka as it broke up and went north and south of me tonite and more to come in southern Indiana. Dogwood is pretty much very hard to fish and weed growth is commencing to choke the bay areas off as it thickens. Good luck in your endeavors.

Well, we went down to Patoka on the 27th and came back on 30th. We must of caught 200 crappies. But the majority were 5-6" long. We got 2 really nice ones (one was 14.5"), and a hand full of 8-9". We got some bonus channel cats too. I really liked the lake. Water was nice and clear. We caught the crappies in standing timber using just tube jigs under a slip bob. I hope all those shorties get bigger. When they do, that place will be awesome.

That's typical Patoka crappie for you. There are some nice ones in the lake, but by far the majority you will catch are 5-8" long. It has been that pattern for going on about 12-15 years now.
