New harvest rules for Dogwood Lake and Hardy Lake. Crappie now has a minimum size limit of 9 inches with 25 daily bag limit. Bass have gone from 15 inches to 14 inches. Catfish now have a 13 inch minimum size limit. That includes channel, flathead and blue cat. No more than one channel over 28 inches daily and no more than one daily for flathead and blue cats over 35 inches. There is (or was) a sign posted at the Dogwood ramp but you had to really pay attention to notice it. I take no responsibility for the exact wording of the above changes. Check the laws for yourself. The article goes on to say, "Dogwood Lake is a premier fishing site". "We are trying to protect it and the fishery there and make the experience the best we can". I would like to believe that is true but if it were they would put a bag and size limit on bluegill and enforce the bag limit for red ear. Dogwood pan fish have been over harvested for years now and it shows. Fisherman cannot continue to kill 4 and 5 inch fish and expect the fishery to improve.
After yesterday's wind, I am not sure any warning signs remain in place. I saw a pontoon boat at West Boggs blown off of the trailer.
