    Default Lake Monroe Bait shops

I am taking the wife and daughter to Lake Monroe next week to crappie fish. We are staying at Jellystone camp ground in a cabin. Anyone know where a place is close to there to by minnows. Also what would be the closet launch ramp. Thanks.

I've always used this place when I wanted minnows. Last 10 years I haven't brought any minnows, so can't say how they are now. It is right outside of paynetown ramp, which is the ramp I prefer to use. Just down the road is cutright on the slow side, I just like paynetown. In the area I like to fish, decent docks, and it isn't a steep ramp at all. The campground I think is up by the dam, so I'd use fairfax or salt creek if I didn't want to drive a bit. I'd rather fish the other end of the lake most of the time.

Thanks Cubswin. My nephew and I usually make a couple trips each year down. We usually buy bait at the shed and launch from Paynetown. The campground is up by the dam. I am not familiar with this end of the lake so trying to find places close. Thanks.

There used to be a bait shop on the same road as Jellystone and not far from it. I think there is a bait shop also,,on the county road you take east off hwy 37 (road to the dam) and its located before you get to the south turn of the road to Jellystone. Its not far off 37 up the hill before the turn off. Why not call Jellystone as they will know the closest baitshop.
