    Default Lake Freeman thoughts

Anyone fish lake Freeman for crappie? I never have any luck there with any species but it is close and I thought maybe if I hit it at the right time I could catch something. I know the lake some as I test my boat to make sure all things are working well every spring. Thought I could make a fishing trip out if it as well. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated!

I live in the area and have not fished either lake in 30 years and then it was at night for catfish. Anyone have recommendations for a boat ramp on either lake. I understand there are no public ramps on either lake.

On shafer I use the monon ramp, at the trailer park. Pretty good ramp.

I'd like to know what ramps are decent on freeman, been wanting to try it for smallmouth.

On freeman you can launch at Tall Timbers which I believe is $12 or at white oaks resort for $8 I believe. There is also dodge camp but don't know price. Blue water is free but is on the river portion between the lakes and can it fill up. I haven't had much luck for crappie on freeman but I work with a guy that claims to. I don't thinks its known as a great crappie lake. I have had better luck on Shafer and use the monon ramp.

At Dodge Camp the ramp is free (city owned) however the docks are owned by private person. So if you use a dock I think it was a $10 dollar fee.

    Thanks 10 Point

I'm going to try and get out next weekend depending on weather. I don't think anything else is fishable yet. Maybe Racoon.
