Fall is always my most fun time of the year. Less fisherman, bigger fish and can do a little hunting if need be.
I'm just about as excited for fall as I was for spring, cooler temps, less boats, etc.I will fish until the ice covers the lakes and then wait for the ice to grow thick enough to go fishing again.Part timers clock out around labor day. Not soon enough for me!!!

sadly fall around here is still crowded, actually more fishermen on the water.
Agreed, I really enjoy the fall fishing. Places I fish are typically mostly empty of boats. It's a great time to get out. I'm looking forward to it, I haven't been doing much crappie fishing since this spring. It's been late night bluegill fishing for me here lately.
I love fall, when the fishing is bad there is always squirrel hunting.
It's about ready to get good here in Wisconsin.
Leaves are already starting to fall,,especially off the wild cherry, summack, and yellow poplar trees. Hickory is starting to shed nuts and squirrels are alreay gathering like all get out ,,been cooler than normal for July. I think its going to be a early spring. For sure,,the deer are moving great in the cooler weather, had 5 big does and 4 big bucks walk do the drive way yesterday morning at the crack of daw,,and all 4 bucks were nice shooters with extremely large racks and over 200lbs a piece. Just have to wait and see.
With this weather we may have snow on the ground by fall.
oh don t say that I can t stand two rough winters in a row
Have heard from 2 farmers that I ran into on separate occasions this week, that are predicting a harder winter this year, early even,,,with January being a lot colder than last year. I sure hope their predictions are wrong myself but will just have to wait and see how it all works out. Around here in southern Indiana,,they are only going to get 2 cuts this year on their hay and alfalfa due to wet summer and cooler weather we have already had and things are looking like a early fall as well to them.
