Never fish in a small boat after 11am
I do most my fishing early morning or late evenings, but yesterday wife wanted to go and it was about 1pm. Loaded up and headed out the Missy. I could see when we got there it was a bad idea, "speed" boats every where zipping back and forth. My boat is a 10' jon boat with a 3hp, it's heavy duty and sturdy, but small. We headed out, heading for the dam to anchor off . The "normal" boat traffic was making it somewhat rough, but we had a couple people buzz by us, as in they turned their coarse to purposely buzz by us and we about lost it. This went on till we got to the dam and anchored about 20'-25' from the dam. Calmed down a little and we caught a few gills, then we get buzzed, real close, water got in the boat, actually scared my wife. The kicker was when the boat went by they looked back at us as we tried to hang on and they all were laughing and pointing. So I guess it was so funny they did it again. We pulled up and left, staying close to the shore and got buzzed a few more times on the way back. I understand everyone has the right to use the lake, but it's a big lake, if you see a small craft is it to much to try and avoid it ? When did attempting to capsize a boat and drowned people become so funny ? I blame myself for thinking I could fish from a small boat on a Sat. afternoon on a 3,000+ acre public lake. I won't even go into what happened on the ramp when we were leaving, just love this "me first" world we live in.

I feel for ya had a 14 foot jon in 70 s used to get swamped at cataract and Monroe retired it to small electric only lake I fished and got a deep v it is still bumpy on weekends but I stay safe and dry and still small enough to get in skinny waters a shame people do that

Registration number and a photo. They would wish they never saw my small boat when I finished with them. Every state has laws against just what they were doing. And ifin not mistaken there is also a federal law against it.

Have you ever tried the small ramp up in idle zone on north east side of 13 bridge its ideal for small crafts like yours and wont get ran over

With a earth shaking 9.9. thank goodness on my boat the gunnells are really high.
Heck its ruff when even a pontoon or two try to swamp you and they are full of old retired women!
if i do fish during the day at brookville I stay in the idle zones

night before last i had a boat come up river fullout with no lights. passed within 40ft of me anchored up on the channel edge. that could have been a bad situation. i had no time to switch on my lights. also, i have been known to take a nap while waiting for the clicker to go off. lol when at anchor i dont run any lights, because of the bugs.
