    Default Patoka fishing info?

Anybody slaying the crappie at Patoka? Thinking about trying it again this week. Water temps? Fishing reports?

The lack of reports for this time of year usually means one thing.....things are catching fire across the state. I wish I had the week off, but I pretty much wish that every week.

Went today, got on the water about 9:00 fished south lick area, water was up and dirty not muddy but stained, water temp was 69* just a bit turned very windy no stumps to tie up to all was under water so boat control was out of the question. Managed to catch about 50 all dinks with a couple 11 in. Black crappie that was almost solid black, one bass and one small 6in. Hybrid looking bass. Gave up on the wind about 1:30 and headed to the curbett for lunch. All were caught in 6 ft of water on a 1/16 oz. tube jig black with white skirt fished as slow as you could turn the handle.... It is just a short drive for me to South Lick but I have seen no reason to even get on the lake for a while now. Wind, bugs, dirty water and dropping water level takes all the fun out of it.

Thanks for the reports,,but after my escapades of last nite,,staying home and tending sore back, neck, shoulders, and leg..fell at 11:30 pm last nite off a rock wall of a old railroad grade cut into limestone wall about 10'. Did 1 & 1/2 backwards summersalts and landed on back fighting neighbors small forest fire with local volunteer fire dept. Thank god parachute training kicked in on landing as landed on upper back and neck. Every vertebre popped on landing and nothing broken but bruised all to heck. Dumb move as was holding on to a tree branch and it broke leaving me suspended falling backwards. I landed limber and that kept from breaking anything for sure. Upper side of leg has road rash about 8" long in the thigh area that will look black/yellow/blue before its all over. At the age of 64,,still limber as heck and glad I am healthy as heck. Enjoying the hot tub immensely. Might just bass fish the West Fork tomorrow even tho its falling also.

Surprisingly,,,I didn't even bruise,,,still sore here and there with lots of little road rash scrapes and cuts. But,,Mobility and agility is back as you can't keep a hard headed wiry old cuss down!
