Thanks for the info. I have 2 quarts of em in reused bait dirt/containers in the fridge. I'm going to move them to the bin and give the conditioning a try.

I would harvest the crawlers, lay newspaper out and dump the container of worms onto the paper, then lay more paper on top of them...I might do this several times, changing the papers frequently and removing a lot of the slime from the worms...then, I would place 2-3 inches of water in the bottom of a styrofoam cooler adding one or two trays of ice cubes and throw the crawlers into the icy water overnight...in the morning, the crawlers will be approximately twice as big and, if you use em that day they'll wiggle like crazy when they hit the warmer water of the the lake or river you're fishing...had my best luck fishing em on Lindy slip rigs and just hooking them near the head with a small aberdeen hook...
Roaming the banks of the Kankakee River and anywhere else fish might lurk.

We got about 10 dozen and started a worm bed in the garage. Hope to get any 10-20 dozen and be good for the summer. A few out tonite but the rain was keeping them jittery.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL

Wow, they really like that newspaper treatment! Linus, the biggest of em all, is HUGE now. Charlie, the half worm, has healed up real nice too. Lucy, has turned a lighter pink than before; not sure what that means. Anyways, so far, so good!

UH-O now you can't use them, you done went and named them, that makes them pets and you wouldn't want to hurt your pet would you.

Dang it, the book never said not to name em! Besides, I have the entire Peanuts gang right there in the Styrofoam cooler. They even have a little white grub, named Snoopy.
