Default Polar Vortex to last at least 2 weeks into March.

I sure hope they are wrong as you may not want to read this. Seems like this cold weather is going to last couple of weeks into March with the entire month of March being colder than normal. Going to have to really dress like the pilsbury doh boy for fishing from a boat if we can ever get to open water. This weather really sucks.

Couple of times in mid march,,,I went down to Lake Weise, Ala., and had snow on the hill sides with the water temp no more than 40-45 degrees. That makes it tough fishing! Think I will stay up here and fight the cold weather as soon as I can find open water and going to check out Patoka later this week as I wanted to last week but didn't. Drive around it and see what it looks like. I don't mind dressing for the cold as long as there is little to no ice and some open water somewhere to fish. Boat is ready to go and sitting in heated garage right now.

Who fixed that dadgum hole in the ozone? Would it help if we slept with the windows open?

Haven't made it up to King's yet but there is very little open water on the main lake. South Lick is just starting to open up but the ramp is still locked in as is Lick Fork ramp.

Kings should be open I am thinking,,as all the ice is totally gone at Williams Dam on the East Fork of the White River, and the 10 acre slew next to hwy 450 is open totally with ice gone off it. Just saw 3 bald eagles on it fishing and its up cause the river is going to flood 450 tonite for a few days due to high water. River is muddy muddy muddy or I would be fishing for smallmouths, kentuckys, lg. mouths, and saugers. Raporter, if you get a chance to drive up to Kings someday, give us a report please.

I love Polar Vortexes!!! Mother Nature is finally been good to us!!! Icefishing has been off the charts and the wind isn't blowing the boat around, no yahoos at the boat ramp, no pleasure boaters, no launch fee, no park fees, fish bunched up, no bass anglers chopping up my trolling pass, cold beer all the time, super fresh fillets! Life is better than good!!!

Glad you like to ice fish,,since moving a few years ago to southern Indiana, my custom made box sled with my tipups, ice fishing poles, tackle box and gas powered ice awger as well as hand powered ice auger is all hanging and stored in the garage and is staying there. lol, I'm ready to get the boat out, and fish! Even if I have to freeze my butukus off alittle.
