You've got the crappie tourney on Sat. Mar. 22, and IBF Tourney on Sun. 23,,both on Patoka,,its going to be a zoo, and still could have ice on even then if this weather don't break. I can't remember any major tourney ever being cancelled in the spring cause of ice. Hope this stuff melts before then for sure. I guess we keep our fingers crossed?

Ditto what HT said. I am eating a lot of good fish lately. The rest of you guys can sit in by the fire and read crappie world magazine and go to the boat show and listen to some windy guys talking.... but for me, I am out here living the good life. Never felt more alive...lol.

They are calling the weekend storm a "major Storm". March is coming in like a lion. Be prepared for ice and power outages.

We also have some guys going to Sardis in April. The 7,8,9,10. Hope see you down there. I'm done with this cold & snow, ready to fish.

This might end up being one of those springs that we pick and find mushrooms in the snow. Been there and done that before.

Just got back from a drive around part of Patoka. South Lick ramp is still locked in. Saw two immature eagles sitting on the edge of ice along 164. Osbourne ramp is open with no ice in sight. Walls is opening up but you still cannot go beyond the ramp area. Kings is open both ways so you could launch there if you are comfortable with a primitive ramp.

Many thank you's for this info reporter,,,awesome reporting of the ice on Patoka. Hope this weather we are having now doesn't build up more ice and it keeps melting and opening the waters to fish. All we need is air temp above freezing to keep it opening up and this sunshine we are having now. I have launched at Kings before so its no biggie for me. Awesome info and thanks again.
