Went out for a few hours today when the rain let up. No wind, no rain, sounds like good combo right? Get the boat launched and get baited up and a breeze starts blowing. OK, instead of trolling I will drift. Catch 4 in the first 15 minutes. Wind starts gusting and the drift is faster than the fish will commit to. Find a few spots to anchor without much luck. Wind continues to pick up and temps start the decline. I am marking fish everywhere. They are from 8fow to 30fow at all depths. The wind is so strong by now I have no boat control and the fish are not hitting with me anchored. Headed for calm side of lake to find very little relief from the wind. I end up with 10 keepers from 9-11". Had many more hits but with struggling to control boat never got them into the boat. The water temp was down to 46-47 degrees. Most fish caught in 10-18fow and about 5-8ft deep. They were hungry but I could not keep the bait in front of them. Worst day on the water all year.
