Large stores like Bass Pro, and Cabelas like to be located where several states meet.

This way they can get customers from several different states.

This Louisville location will draw in tons of visitors/customers from Ohio, and Indiana, as well as Kentucky.

If you look at the locations of most Bass Pro stores, most are located near where two or three states are close together.

Wow, it looks like Columbus Ohio will get a Cabelas also next year.

    Louisville getting next-generation Cabela

So Louisville, Kentucky, and Columbus, Ohio will have a Cabelas Store.

Both of those locations are close to many of you Indiana Guys.

Ya me too, I could care less about one going in Louisville. Clarksville is closer than Louisville to us Indiana guys, and I seem to find BP carries better fishing stuff than Cabelas for the most part anyway. Cabelas may be a little better on the hunting side though. Either way, they are a 3 hour drive for me so one close to Indy would sure be nice.

This new Louisvile location is very close to many people in southern Indiana.

So I think this is good for both Kentucky, and Indiana.

This new store will also provide several hundred jobs in the Louisville, KY area, so that is a good thing also.

There is also a new Cabelas store opening up next year in Columbus, Ohio.

That will be close for a lot of eastern Indiana people.

I think Cabelas can simply make more money in other states, like here in KY.

In KY high powered rifles can be used for hunting, so Cabelas could sell tens of thousands or maybe even hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of high powered rifles each year to KY hunters.

Elk, and Bear can also be hunted in KY, so Cabelas could sell more Elk and Bear hunting equipment here at a KY Location.

IMO, a KY Cabelas would probably sell more fishing equipment also, KY has the Mississippi River, Ohio River, KY Lake, Barkley Lake, etc and lots of other lakes, and trout streams.

Things like this are also probably factors, in regards to where a Cabelas store will be built, imo

    What is your opinion ?

At the time I was glad they didn't cause of the tax give away to Cabelas and Gander was payin' full boat taxes...........that stuff ain't right. But central IN would have never been a good draw anyway.
I only fish The Coon cause that's where I keep my toon.
