    yes, it was from our st joe river. out around the amish sewer pipe.

    algae blooms? Heard they r warning people not to eat fish from out of local waters because of the extra high temps and low water levels.

    Amish sewer pipe? I might expect it to have a beard then.....

    ...just kidding.

    Maybe the people at the county extension office or the DNR could tell you if you really want to know. might

    Pretty sick looking.

    Very interesting, to say the least. Nasty is a pretty good adjective. I'm sure many of us would be interested in knowing what exactly is going on there. Discard pile, for sure!

    some type of parasite, causing external growths on the fish...I saw something like that once before during a very hot summer when the water was low and algae was bad.
    Roaming the banks of the Kankakee River and anywhere else fish might lurk.

    Doing several Google searches and looking over many pictures, it looks like lymphocystis virus.

    St Joe River, which one? I know there is one that goes into Ft Wayne and one that is further North. Is it one of these?
