x 2. Had we electd McCain we would of had a similar discussion right now. Had we elected him we would of had 4 more years of Bush basically 4 more years of big oil running the country and basically the same discussion. The President takes a lot of credit and heat for the economy always has. Fact of the matter is the President has little to do with the economy. Economies are cyclical. Fact of the matter is also we have a nasty World economy. Big business is sucking the life out of us. Oil being a biggie heathcare/insurance not all that far behind. Exon Mobile has assets greater than the third wealthiest country in the World....

All that is said on a daily basis about how bad our economy is. Fact of the matter is we have one of the strongest economies in the World. That however is of so little comfort for all our people that are struggling to make ends meet. Not only the unemployed but those employed that can if they are lucky make it from week to week on their paycheck. Who's to blame? Who is the biggest target?

The wealth of our nation was built by hard working middle class entrepreneurs. Governments Do Not create jobs. Entrepreneurs do. Over the years big business have pushed entrepreneurs out of business. I run a small business. I have thought about expanding but the risk/reward ratio looks far too close to take the risk. I think I am not alone there. I think many businesses feel the same. I also don't feel a different President would change that.

your right in some of your statements gone fishing,,however,,,I don't like a President that doens't follow the Bill of Rights or the Constitution that this country was founded on. I also don't like a President that enjoys wars. I also am totally against the US negociating with the Taliban over in Afganistan while our troops are laying their lives down..This is vietnam all over again, of which I was a part of as a Marine over there, and cannot nor will not back a government that risks its people in harms way while they play politics with their lives as we are doing.. So many reasons to point out why both parties are to blame for allowing crap like this to affect us.

I'm truly sorry for having made this post..not into venting,,won't happen again nor will I post any more on this. Sorry again, but we are on the verge of another Resession and we have nobody at DC willing to make sacrifices and find solutions to anything going on.

I couldn't agree with you more crevans. But I am not sure what I said that you disagree with everything you said I agree with. I wasn't at Vietnam but I was in the 101st Airborne Div for 3 years in Post Vietnam era.

Well perhaps the statement about Washington pulling us out of a possible 2nd recession. With the exception of controlling interest rates I don't think Washington can control the economy. I actually think their attempts make it worse. Our last recession was part of a world recession. Our recovery has been weak because the world economy is weak. It also means there is danger of another recession.
