Im thinking of hitting Hovey tommorrow. Anyone been there or had any reports? Im wandering if the water level is right? Just searching for any last minute advice.
I fished in Hovey Lake when I was a kid for crappie. Remember catching several decent sized slabs. Used cane poles with minnows. Would probably suggest this technique for the lake since there are thousands of stick ups and tree stumps. I remember putting in at the ramp and hitting straight back and then to the "right" through a channel in the stumps. I need to get back there myself this year. Hope this helps!

The Ohio has been down a while, but I suspect Hovey is up a little. Shouldn't be high enough to bother the fishing. Call them at 812.838.2927

Hovey Lake sounds like the hotspot in this area. I am coming down that way Friday (6-30-06) to take my brother fishing. This sounds like a nice place. Could anyone tell me if there is a gate or boat fee? Also any pointers on where in this lake would be the best spots. One more thing, I will be using a flat bottom boat with a troling motor...is that okay in this lake? Thanks David
