On some lakes you can use your big motor to load. I would ask first.
Do you guys know if it's OK to briefly use the gas motor to get on and off the trailer on an Electric Motors Only lake? Thanks

On some electric motors only lakes you are not allowed to have a gasoline motor on the boat period.

A no-no in my area.

I have done it before but there were no C.O. around either, i find it difficult to believe they would make a big issue out of it if all you were doing was using it to take/put your boat on the trailer. Now if you were using it to get around on a TM only lake that would be something different. I personally think that TM only lakes is a stupid rule.
To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Required
Agree with limbhook stupid rule just don't do it if CO is around got caught 10 yrs ago fine was 75 dallors, caught on tipsaw lake
The signs at these lakes are cut and dry. There is no asterik that says "It is ok to use the OB to unload and load". But alot of times it will be up to the CO's discretion, but he's gotcha if he wants to write a ticket.

I hear ya, and I understand ya, but electric only is just that. Listened to 2 guys arguin' one day at the ramp on a little lake, the one guy was pointing out that if he couldn't load the boat without the outboard, maybe he'd brought the wrong boat. It is what it is.
saw a guy at dogwood that used his 35 h.p. to put boat back on trailer and got a ticket.LAKE HAS A 10 H.P. LIMIT
A few years ago at Dogwood a boat hit a stump knocked a hole in it and flipped over in 20' deep water. We picked the guys up in our 17' and towed their boat (upside down) back to the ramp. Had to start my 75 Merc up to do it. They lost all their tackle etc. and it was a borrowed boat from one of the guys uncle. Their gas can was one of the few things left floating. I figured it would take a real A-hole to issue me a ticket. Luckily no A-holes around.
