Poke a hole in a cooler and add a bubbler. Most weigh bags leak even when new. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes before you weigh. Get a cooler with wheels then you don't have to carry it.

I like the Igloo Cube. Every now and then I get 7 decent fish and they need a little more head room. I use the cooler as my keeper livewell, too. Less stress if you don't have to move fish and it's easier to keep the fish cooler in the warmer months.

What size do you use? Is it the maxi cooler? And,,did you mount a aerator to it?

I use the 60 quart roller. I have one onboard for bait and one for fish that uses a 12v aerator and run it off of my cranking battery. Come weigh in, I just hang a battery powered bubbler from the side of the cooler to keep them fresh. I love the milk crate idea.

I use a large igloo cooler aerated and change the water out constantly, in jon boat, but was always curious as to how you tourney fishermen were capable of keeping your crappies alive especially in the hot summer weather. Thanks for the reply...good info to know.

    Cevans,
Freeze 5 or 6 water bottles( 1 pint size) and add one to the livewells thruout the day to cool the water. We reuse our bottles and add fish saver in the bottles. Just remove the cap and toss it in the well. We use well water, never city water. Keep the pro-air running and the rec pumps on. Dont use bagged ice due to the chlorine in it.
This is exactly what the top bass pro's do at the US Open on Lake Meed with the air temps up to 120 degrees.

A milk crate in that cube cooler makes it easy to get your fish out at weigh-in too.
