This is way too late in the year, but the copperheads are still molting this late in the year due to the heat and so far, the wife and I have killed 19 out of our yard and the last 30 days, they have been mean, aggressive, to the point, I got on Cabelas and purchased a pair of Knight & Hale Snake Chaps for 40 bucks. Then the wife got her nephew and wife to buy a pair each as they run a lawn service and had been seeing them also. Day before yesterday, her nephew weed whacking got hit twice by 2 copperheads, one about 3.5’ long and the other cracking 4’ long over 3” dia and had these Chaps on. Needless to say he was alittle freaked out, but happy he was not bitten and was telling us he could hear the loud thump feeling each hit above the ankles about 6”. Watch out if your hunting and walking in the weeds especially in this warm extremely dry weather as the dang snakes are still molting and mean.
