Prayers for your Father-In-Law. Hope the fall weather gets here sooner than later for you and you can get out a bit.
Anybody been out in this heat?
Unfortunately, my FIL isn't doing so well and most of my trips, plans have been cancelled for obvious reasons. I'm taking advantage of the home time and remodeling the last two rooms in the basement. The rooms are framed, electrical run, and half the drywall is up.
For now, I have to live vicariously thru others fishing reports. At this point I'll take any report. I'm jonesin to go fishing.

Prayers for your FIL. Fishing in Central Illinois has been slow. Some of the guys that consistently catch limits have been reporting a slow bile the last couple of weeks. Cooler weather should help get them going. Take care.

Prayers. I'm currently not going fishing because of arm and shoulder issues. Trying a new shoulder brace. Just got it today. But it has been over 100 most every day of the last 4 weeks down here in Lake Charles La with no rain in sight. Does not make a fellow real enthusiastic to go fishing. Also now we 2 "massive, raging" wildfires in the area. Air quality is bad and one of the fires has the highway I normally take closed. Anyway, hope you are working in a cool place. "D"
I managed to get out last weekend. The temps broke on Friday night and the morning temp was mid 70's. It was nice. I caught a ton of off species fish. Just about everything but Crappie. Then around 10am the temps started to climb and even the off species dropped off. Around 11am Clouds rolled in. Dark clouds and looked like it was about to rain. The air temps dropped, almost needed a jacket. I could hear thunder way off in the distance. But the Crappie got after it. Ended up spider rigging between two fish cribs. They were scattered between the cribs. Nothing on the cribs was hitting, but off and between those two cribs I was getting bit. It was great. Caught my limit pretty quick.
Basement remodel update- all the plumbing, electrical, etc is done, walls are framed, and drywall has been hung. Time to mud and tape.
Thanks for the prayers.
