This has not happened to me yet. I am restoring one of my boats and going over some options in my head. My tm needs to be replaced but I am not going to. When I troll it will be done using the outboard. Rod holder placement options are not plentiful nor easily accessed for the operator. This is why I asked what you guys think.

2022 IDNR Regs: TROLLING Trolling is permissible, provided the angler has not more than three poles and lines with not more than two hooks or lures on each, except in waters where there is a 2 pole and line only designation.

I am going to say the guy in the back would be ticketed for the 4th pole. The guy driving the boat is not fishing.

I would say A for sure. Don’t chance it and give the law a reason to take some of your money.

I think the guy in the back of the boat is going to get a ticket and he’ll probably expect you to pay it. ��
