So I am confused and I know I am from out of state. If you have a 25 HP motor you can run it full throttle but a 40 HP you can only idle?

Yes, that’s correct. At least a person can fish the lake if you have a large HP motor. It is my understanding that the policy is being implemented at most restricted lakes in the state.

So a 25hp motor a full throttle makes no wake ?

I see this as a good thing. Sangchris is a relatively small lake, so now it will be open to more fishermen.
Interesting
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I can see it being good but running a 25 HP wide open causes wake. Here in Oh they have no wake lakes you aren’t even allowed to put a big motor I the water to use.

Here in Iowa no wake is just that, NO WAKE. 4.5 sailboat motor or mega motor bass boat. I am glad they opened it up to large motors though.
Was out there over the holiday weekend, saw several boats with larger motors idling around at no wake. I agree with other posters, all those big boats with 25HP motors cause WAY more wake plowing along unable to get on plane than a properly powered boat going along on plane.
However, with all the wind out there this spring, it doesn't matter 25HP or over, no wake or not, the shoreline erosion cannot be stopped.
Now if they would just start allowing habitat drops like they do on other lakes...
