I’ve been doing pretty good over deep brush they’ve been hitting jigs better than minnows for me lately
Sounds like fun! I’ve know several people that have had hips and knees done... I don’t like to ice fish around here either sometimes it’s ok but I’m always leery so I never enjoy it lol

Clinton Lake is a Power plant cooling lake located near the town of Clinton. Clinton Lake is about the same distance from Bloomington, Decatur, and Champaign. It's a deent fishery, loaded with pleasure craft in the summer, and has 313 campsites. No private houses on the lake. One Marina, and about 6 or 7 boat ramps. Relatively long, narrow lake in the shape of a V. I normally start fishing it around the 1st of March. Air temps in the low 30's, water temps in the 30-45 range thanks to the hot water discharge of the power plant. I stop fishing around shotgun season, around Thanksgiving. I camp there pretty much that entire span as well. There are roughly 8 campsite loops. Most sites are 30amp, no water or sewage. 10% are 50 amp with water and sewage hook-ups. About a dozen are non-electric and of those 6 are tent only, walk in. There are 3 or 4 loops designated as non-alcoholic. the rest allow alcohol. Two decent shower houses and numerous pit toilets scattered around the campsites. About half the sites are reservable, the other half is first come first serve. Holiday weekends the campground is packed, not a site open. Needless to say, the ramps are packed as well. Cannot launch the boat if there is no parking spot and there is no parking in the grass. Lake has Crappie, Bass, Saugeye, and other game species. It's a great place to go in Central Illinois. Has something for everyone. Even has a beach for those without a boat. Yes, you can swim in the lake and there are several party "coves" where people anchor up and swim all day. As boats, I've seen everything from Kayaks to House boats on the lake.
