Please let keep politics out of this conversation as it starts flame wars. But I hear you on the increases. That's one of the reason I moved out and to a more reasonable state, Florida. My house taxes went from 10k+ per year to less than 2k, and I have a nicer house (on a lake)! unreal
The house taxes alone made the decision for my mom to move down here to Florida too! It's like paying rent to the guberment!

Thank you for contacting my office and sharing your thoughts about HB 3851, which reduces the trailer flat weight tax from $118 to $18.
I am definitely in support of this bill. I voted against the passage of the increase to begin with, and am glad that efforts are being made to roll back the excessive tax increases. This bill is a small step towards reducing taxes on Illinois citizens that are leveled without concern for managing the state’s debt, and I hope to support more and better fiscal bills in the future.
