I have similar concerns for fishing southern Illinois this weekend, so I'm gonna wait a couple days.
Im considering making a long drive to Clinton this Saturday. Do you guys think the water will be too muddy for a below average crappie guy like myself?? Id be taking kids so I wont go if you think all this rain will make fishing slow.

I just think the fish will move to shallower water and new trees there due to high water. They should bite on bright colored jigs

Bassing, thanks for the tip on crappie masters. I was planning on going Sunday, so hopefully they'll still be a few fish left by then.

I'm going to the ville for my first solo trip. No clue where to go. I will be there Sunday weather permitting. I will be in a dark red Ranger RT 178, 60 Merc.
Fished Ville today mid-lake got on water bout 1230. Hit some beaver damns and Christmas trees to start. Caught them couple feet from bank in the beaver damns. Switched up and went to spider rigging. Trolled along main lake points and ledges in 20 to 30 ft of water fishing down 10 to 15 ft. Fish are suspended all over.
