The wife and I spent a week in St. Louis, with four days dedicated to the granddaughter's wedding (which was fantastic) and three days fishing. Monday and Tuesday were spent at Kincaid. We tried drop-shotting double-rigged minnows. The crappie were all over the screen, but the cold (make that very cold) front had them close-mouthed. Mom hooked a good one, but it came unbuttoned. Went to the motel, where Montanaboy cooked some filet mignons on the grill. Fished the dock after dinner and got some small ones. Tuesday, the electronics weren't working and we didn't want to hit the big water, so we hit the docks again. Got some dinks and three that just made 10"s. Some very tasty doves were on the menu. Decided to go to Rend. Boats doing no good, so we fished the retaining wall. Combined, we got about 200 crappie and some yellow perch. We kept 9 overs and 8 that were 9 1/2"s. We were told that for several weeks, the fishing at the retaining wall was the best in 20 years. Story of our lives.
We should have taken some more pics. I did catch this largemouth at Kincaid on a baby shad bobby garland
