Hope your luck is as good as mine or better when you go.
Headed to rend tomorrow until Sunday I hadn’t been there since last spring in 2017. I see they put a bunch of habitats in. I’ll be camping on Sandusky. Wind forecast does not seem that bad. Will be jigging or spider rigging jigs. I’ll keep you posted on progress

Hey Dave where were you fishing and where were they?
"hdhntr", launch out of Sailboat Harbor and find the 15ft deep water.
Set your jig from 11-13ft using a 3/16oz PINK jighead and an orange
or yellow Lake Fork plastic with black fleck and just hold it still. Use
the areas on either side of Rt 154 and the first bridge where the river
channel runs through.

Got late starts yesterday and today. Got 20 yesterday in four hours and 26 today in 6 hours. More 10”+ then ever. A couple 12 and 13.
They like the jig still. I also got some on jig under a Bobber
All kinds of jigs. Today they wanted bright colors. Using crappie magnets, pico shads, crappie beavers or mod south tubes
Water was average 56.
Most fish by rip rap some off of brush. Biggest one came off at dark it was probably 14”
Gonna try again in morning
I searched for newest cribs put out this week and could not find them. The ones off of gunncreek

I finally made it out Saturday. Boat ramp looked like black friday at walmart. I probably dropped my first jig at about 8:00, had my 10 over 10" by 9:15, and my 15 between 9" and 10" by 10:30. Six overs were 11.5"-12", no super giants but nice fat shad gorged bellies. I try to avoid weekends there, it can be a circus but if your not too serious it can be entertaining. You see everything from the guy in the 2018 22' Ranger scowling at every boat that gets within 25 yards of him, the 16' john boat with four 225lb guys fishing in it, guys weaving through the dozens of boats stacked under the bridges with their outboard running looking for a place to throw their anchor, and a host of unexpected events that could occur at any moment. But the bite is on and most any dummy like me can catch some there when it is like this.
I saw Crappie Predator Nick at the gas station parking lot when I was grabbing a bag of ice. He already had his first group of three customers on their way home with their bags of fillets and was getting ready for his second half day trip to begin. If you don't have a boat or just want to get dialed in on technique, depth, or colors you should hire him for a half day---he gets it done.
Mean Green 2 thanked you for this post
Good to see you again. Sorry about not being able to chit chat, my guys were waiting.
