    Default Lake Egypt

How’s the fishin on lake Egypt? Not seeing any posts as of late and am heading over next week to give it a try. I know there is a tournament coming so people are tight lipped now but I’m not planning on fishing it, just going to get out a bit.

    Default Lake Egypt

Had our limits both last Monday and Friday. Monday we caught them on wind blown points up by the plant. Friday we caught them down the lake fishing weeds. Both times we used jigs under corks 12”” inches deep to 8ft deep. We caught a good few on minnows and slip corks just outside the weeds too.

Will be heading over early Tuesday, gonna fish two days staying at the Baymont in Marion. I will be fishing from a red ranger Z20 in case you are on the lake either of those days.

It's not that much different than any other lake. Except that in winter the upper third will hold more fish because of the warm water discharge. You have to find them. The fish will be doing what most of the baitfish are doing. If they go shallow then the fish most likely will. They may move up in a bay but stay close to the creek channel. Or they may move close to the bank over some weeds.Maybe hang up on points at the major depth changes and contours,or maybe scatter over the mid lake. Drive around and use your sonar to find where the majority of baitfish are and where you can mark other fish that will give you an idea as to a pattern. Same as any other lake. You can't fish closer than 10ft of a dock. Fish may move from morning to afternoon so you may need to also. Lakes up so with the warm nights they may push way up when that sun shines on the water for a while.

That will 20 bucks for the info I take paypal. Course if you want to know exactly where they are that will be 45 dollars LOL.

Don't keep any of my fish though. You will know them because they are white with black markings ...throw those back.

Make sure those are the latest rules below....may want to pickup some from a baitshop when you get there.

I can't believe you don't want to go fish the river or Big Lake right now LOL.

And listen...Egypt is not the only lake got fish in it......everybody spread out some it gets crowded at times if we don't.
