Nice job Bob, Nick is one heck of a guide and a nice person too.
Took my wife out to Rend today. Since we had this planned, I felt we should go
through with our trip. Woke up this morning to temp in the low 40''s after a cold
front pushed its'way thru following Monday's all day rain affair driving down from
the SW burbs, and winds steady at 15-20 with gusts upward of 25! Started to
think I made a mistake. Met with Nick Shafer of Predator Fishing Guide Service
for breakfast and he assured me we would be OK. Launched out of Jackie Branch
on the west side of the lake and decided to make stop at the bridge on the west side.
Well no sooner did we start to jig the area on the SE corner than my wife lifts a solid
11 inch fish. I'm fishing on the back of the boat and get a nice short (about 9 1/4").
We jigger 3/16 jigs with various colors of Lake Fork shad baits. We lasted 5 hrs in
westerly winds that began WSW and finished WNW at about a steady 20 mph and
gusts up to 30mph. Caught well over 150 fish in the 5 hours and kept 48 keepers.
A couple of pics will follow when I get home on Wednesday.

OK,so here's a couple of photos to support the story from above. Had a great time
even in the wind and cold weather, and brought a few fish home in the process.

WTG great day with the wife in awful conditions. this is where it is so worth hiring a guide who doesn't let conditions stop them from ketching.

Nice job in tough conditions. Your wife has that "This is how it's done boys!" look on her face!!! Um....my wife would probably be waiting in the truck at this point after spending 5 hours in the boat with me.

Largest fish was 14.5in. Having my wife catch more of the bigger fish was the
best feeling I could have had. She always fished with her dad when she was growing
up as a kid, and she''s also a trooper as we have gone for walleye in mid to late Oct. up
in Little Bay De Noc up in Gladstone, MI and getting hit by rain, snow and sleet for 8 hrs.
