Earlier this week, Garmin released the echomap and striker "PLUS" series. Also -
Heard rumors of a black Friday special. Echomap 93sv $600. Echomap 73sv $450. Both with sidevu transducers. Due to the release of the echomap plus series?
I'm curious if the striker series will be heavily discounted also, since they released the plus series for strikers also.
The plus series strikers will be quickdraw compatible.

I've had both, and choose bird my opinion:

Bird has better sidescan in shallow water, lowrance seems to black out if you try and side scan very far in shallow water. While that being said if your in deeper water I'd take lowrance downscan.

Bird is more user friendly presets etc...

Bird is more reliable I've seen mine and a buddy's lowrance say "no source" or just plain screen not updating many times.

Lakemaster is better than navionoics for most lakes. Even many bass pros have lowrance for everything but will have a small bird for lakemaster

I personally like bird 2d much better than lowrance.

Price- you can pick up a helix unit darn cheap.

This has been debated a million times, just my personal opinion. Either way technology has came a long ways and I'm sure you'll enjoy an upgrade.
